It's great to see this humorous unused scene, though I agree with it being cut. As a kid I remember the spy being menacing all the way until the end when you find out he's friendly and actually concerned with the dinosaur's best interests. Having him telling jokes on the phone and hearing him talk about his plans like that would have taken some of that edge, that worrisome unfamiliarity away.
